Finding Us
By Train
Totnes is 3 hours from London and 30 minutes from Plymouth on the Paddington to Penzance Inter-City line. It also has direct links to Birmingham and the North. Apex tickets are available at a reduced rate if booked in advance.
Dartington College of Arts is on the Dartington Hall Estate and is 2 miles from the station where taxis are available.
By Bus
The number 165 serves Dartington Hall from Buckfastleigh and Totnes. For timetables and information please call traveline on 0870 608 2 608.
By Car
From the North – travelling on the motorway system.
Stay on the M5 until its end when it becomes the A38 south of Exeter. Keep on the A38 following the signs for Plymouth. About 20 miles from Exeter come off at the Buckfastleigh junction and turn left onto the A384 for Dartington and Totnes. After about 5 miles, look for the ‘Dartington – please drive slowly through the village’ sign. Take the next left turn at Dartington Church and follow the signs for Dartington Hall which is one mile from the church.
From the South – travelling on the A38 from Plymouth.
Turn left onto the A385 just beyond South Brent signposted Dartington and Paignton. Follow the signs to Dartington turning left at the mini-roundabout in the village. Go straight over the next roundabout at the Cider Press Centre. Turn right at Dartington Church and follow the signs to Dartington Hall, which is one mile from the church.
South West Sound is taking place in the Lower Close buildings of Dartington College of Arts that are situated down the hill and to the left of the car parks. There will be some stewards and signposts to help you find your way.
Access
Access for patrons with limited mobility
Studios 1, 3 and 17 in use at Dartington College of Arts are fully accessible and found on the ground floor, with ramped access to the main door. There is a lift to studio 4 on the second floor.
Parking
For people with mobility impairments there is one designated space and a drop off point by the entrance to the lower close buildings. There are 4 designated spaces by the entrance to the main car park and 6 adjacent to the White Hart.
A drop off point for the Great Hall is situated at the White Hart approx. 50 metres from the Hall.
Facilities for patrons with visual impairment
Assistance dogs are welcome at Dartington. If you wish to take your dog to South West Sound with you, please let us know when booking your ticket so that we can make arrangements. Alternatively a member of staff will care for your dog during the event.

Accessible Toilets
The main toilet in the lower close buildings is situated on the ground floor next to studio 3.
The main toilet adjacent to the Great Hall is located in the passage between the White Hart and the Great Hall.
